African-American women are approximately 40 percent more likely to die from breast cancer than Caucasian women. We are working to create a future without this and other disparities that negatively impact so many women in our community. By building partnerships with community leaders and drawing on the expertise of our clinicians, we seek to build awareness of these disparities and share resources so we can increase regular screenings among African-American women. Together we can embrace the power of early detection. And we can begin to change the odds. |
